Heart Quilts
I found a pattern I loved online and purchased it. I followed the instructions and got everything cut and pieced and with my daughter's help, in some semblance of a pattern. I made this for her beloved Jordyn from Trenton, NS. It was well received. I had so much extra fabric, I made a similar one for Alice who lives in Calgary.
Tenleigh's Quilt
I made a quilt for my friends Doug and Mary for their chosen granddaughter's new baby, Tenleigh.
It was a new pattern for me called the 10 minute block. It was easy to do and you'll probably see more of this pattern. there is also a picture of the quilt label I had made for the quilt.
Back in the Saddle
I'm back again, after not being here for quite a while. I have made several quilts and I'll be posting pictures of the finished products.
My latest was an altered nine patch quilt for a gal who's on the Fire Department with my husband. I got it pieced and it had a load of pink, and he informs me it's a boy. So I made sashing of aqua then blue. I got it all quilted and at a meeting a week later, had her inform us she's having a girl. ARRrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I started all over again, and I'm making a pink one now.
I purchased 4 charm packs from Sew Sisters called "Foliage" by Moda. I can't decide what pattern to make for my living room, so I'm setting that aside for now and working on a few Christmas items.
Pictures will be posted soon.

Four Generation quilt
By far, the dearest quilt to me is the one I call my Four Generation Quilt.
I found the quilt pieces in my mothers UFOs when she passed away. Some were partially finished with a red center and red binding on the wheel. I couldn't match the red, so I ripped it all off. When I went to Lucy's Fabrics in New Glasgow, the ladies ooohed and ahhhed over the quilt pieces. They told me it was made in the 1930's. I investigated, and found out my Grandmother, Alberta Clark Sanderson, pieced the blocks, but became ill, and didn't finish them. How my Mom (Marjorie Sanderson MacLean) got them, I dont' know, but I got them from her stuff. I rebound the circles, put new centers on the circles, squared up the blocks and added red sashing with blue corner blocks. There was extra unbleached cotton found with the blocks, and on that was stamped a mark of q
uality, that we cannot identify. I added this to the back of the quilt, as well as the story and the names of who worked on it.

I'm very very proud of the way it turned out.
Your comments would be appreciated.

Mystery Quilt is a Mystery
I worked diligently on the Mystery Quilt and when I had it pieced, several of the corners didn't meet up to points and one whole row was off by 1/2 inch. Wellllllllllll...I ripped it all apart, fixed what I could fix. Now, the new mystery is how the heck do I get it back together the way it was??
I have to go looking for the instructions ( I KNOW I kept them..packrat me.)
More later. Have a great summer.
Missing you Lee!!
